M&J Evans Construction Streamlines Site Management with SiteStak and MuckStopper

M&J Evans Construction Ltd, a leading UK firm known for its commitment to quality, enhances site efficiency with the adoption of SiteStak for material storage and MuckStopper for drainage protection.

For over 20 years, M&J Evans Construction Ltd has built a strong reputation for excellence in project delivery and safety across the UK. In their ongoing pursuit of innovation, the company first introduced the SiteStak system to streamline the storage of drainage materials on-site. The system allowed them to maintain optimal stock levels, reduce material damage, and prevent wastage due to misplacement, improving overall project productivity and reducing costs.

Following the success of SiteStak, M&J Evans took another step towards improving site operations by installing MuckStopper units at their 400-unit Taylor Wimpey development site in Crewe. With drainage systems often susceptible to silting from road sweepers, the MuckStopper system provided an effective solution by preventing debris from entering the manholes and road gullies. This proactive step ensured the drainage systems remained silt-free, even during extended construction periods.

Project Manager Justin Evans highlighted the environmental benefits of using MuckStopper, especially in systems with hydro brakes that manage stormwater. "Having MuckStopper in place prevents silt from blocking the hydro brakes and flowing into main waterways, helping us meet environmental standards while keeping the site clean."

M&J Evans’ recent acquisition of Flynn Group, who also uses the SiteStak system, further strengthens their commitment to operational efficiency. The success of both SiteStak and MuckStopper systems is setting a new benchmark for site management, which will continue to be rolled out across more projects.

It was great being out on our Taylor Wimpey plc site in Crewe yesterday and seeing the gulley and manhole silt protection units in-situ. First tarmac visit was also complete this week too, so I will be making a point to go back out next month, lift some lids and see what, if any, debris is down the manholes. Fingers crossed, but I believe these really will be a game changer.
